Popular Collection Offers New Color and Hidden Fastener System
WINCHESTER, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 2008--Known for its
unrivaled beauty and uncompromising quality, Trex Brasilia(R) decking
and railing takes its design inspiration from the exotic look of
tropical hardwoods. Building upon positive consumer response to this
collection, Trex introduced a new color and a new fastening system to
the Trex Brasilia collection at the 2008 International Builders' Show
(IBS).
Already available in the vibrant colors of Burnished Amber and
Cayenne, Trex is debuting Brasilia in new Espresso, which resembles
the dark brown hardwood look that is in style throughout all home
living categories - including furniture and flooring. This deep and
warm color offers minimal fading over time, which allows Espresso to
maintain its richness. Like the existing Trex Brasilia color options,
Espresso features subtle shading and natural color variations - as
well as a smooth and refined surface - that contributes a look of
unparalleled authenticity.
Also new is the exclusive Trex Hideaway(TM) Hidden Fastener
System, which eliminates the need for all deck surface fastening and
provides a cleaner look, free of visible screws and nails. Trex is
partnering with Tiger Claw - a pioneer in the deck fastener industry -
to manufacture two styles of hidden clips that are designed to be used
exclusively with the new grooved boards. The Connector Clip -
available in 50- and 500-square foot coverage options - is for use
between deck boards and automatically ensures proper gapping. The
Start/Stop Clip is available in a 400-square foot coverage option and
is for use on outer boards. The Start/Stop Clip - which allows for
one-sided connections - is the first of its kind on the market. All
clips are constructed of stainless steel for superior durability and
feature a black finish.
During the development of Trex Hideaway, Trex worked closely with
contractors to test the design of the product and to ensure that all
of its features directly addressed contractor needs and exceeded
homeowner expectations.
"Trex Brasilia is a collection that offers unlimited options for
consumers and truly inspires them to create the outdoor living spaces
of their dreams," said Scott Fedor, senior product manager of decking
at Trex. "With the addition of a new, exotic-inspired color choice and
a hidden fastener system that is unique to the industry, we're
improving upon the best and providing homeowners with even greater
design flexibility."
Trex Brasilia is part of the Trex family of decking, railing and
fencing products designed to enhance outdoor living, and complements
Trex's current range of high-aesthetic, natural-looking decking
products, including Trex Escapes(TM), Trex Accents(R) and Trex
Contours(R).
